General Information

One day, nerd girl wanted to create an application to manage her flock of parrots. Joomla! Pedigrees Manager Version 1.x was "Hatched" in 2008 and released to the Public July 2009.

Due to popular demand, more features in the back and front ends were added and the component was converted for Horses. This is the last available packge for JPM for Joomla! 1.5.x. If you need to modify for other animals you will find documentation in the FAQ.

Animal Conversion

If you would like your front end URL and terminology to relate to another animal species, in this version of JPM you will need to update the en-GB_com_joompedigrees.ini file in conjunction with using a keen eye and a FIND/REPLACE editor to replace all instances of "horse" or "horses" with dog and dogs, cat and cats...and so on. Don't forget to update the main table for "horse" in the .sql file if you do this.

Demo SQL

If you would like to populate your installation of JPM with the demonstration content shown on this site:

  • Download this File
  • Extract the contents to an empty folder on your computer
  • Open the file with a standard text editor
  • Open phpmyadmin>your database>Click the SQL tab
  • Paste the contents of the text file and push the go button.
  • Browse to the Joomla! front end to see the new content in JPM
